Disneyland Park is bursting with attractions to suit all ages from the tots' favourite "it's a small world" to action packed thrill rides including Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril! and the out of this world Space Mountain: Mission 2.
Since the park opened its doors more than a decade ago, many new and innovative attractions have been added, making it a multi-day experience where guests can live the Disney magic and meet their favourite Disney characters.
From April 2006, guests can join Buzz Lightyear on his mission to save the toys in the new attraction Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast which will be located in Discoveryland. Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast is inspired by the Walt Disney Pictures presentation of a Pixar Animation Studios film Toy Story 2 and will invite guests to climb aboard two-seater space cruisers fitted with joysticks to rotate the vehicles 360 degrees and shoot at 88 targets with dual laser pistols.
Disneyland Park is divided into five themed lands -- Main Street U.S.A., Frontierland, Adventureland, Fantasyland and Discoveryland - each with their own unique architecture, decoration, costumes, music and landscaped scenery.
At top of the itinerary for thrill seekers are Big Thunder Mountain and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril while those seeking the classic Disney fairytale should not miss Sleeping Beauty Castle and Peter Pan's Flight. Space enthusiasts will enjoy Discoveryland's futuristic attractions and should head for Space Mountain: Mission 2, Star Tours and, from April 2006, Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast. Other must see attractions in Disneyland Park are the eerie Phantom Manor, one of the original Disney attractions - Pirates of the Caribbean and the 3-D extravaganza - Honey, I Shrunk the Audience.
Five of the most popular Disneyland Park attractions are equipped with the innovative FastPass system -- Big Thunder Mountain, Peter Pan's Flight, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril, Star Tours and Space Mountain: Mission 2. Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast will also feature the FastPass system. (Subject to availability on other attractions, please check at City Hall) FastPass is a free guest service that reduces time spent in queues and allows visitors to reserve their ride time. Guests simply insert their theme park ticket into one of the FastPass terminals at the attraction to receive a ticket featuring a one hour 'time slot'. They can return to the attraction during this time slot and access the ride via the FastPass entrance helping them to get the most out of their Disneyland Park experience.
In addition to the various rides and attractions guests can also meet their favourite Disney characters throughout the day in Disneyland Park. Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Pluto, Goofy, Chip and Dale make regular appearances in all areas of the park, offering children of all ages the chance to meet them and take a souvenir photo or a signed autograph.
Disneyland Park is a giant stage, with shows and parades taking place 365 days a year. Traditional parades draw their inspiration from Disney's classic animated features such as the Princess Parade to the ever-popular Fantillusion Parade, which illuminates the park after dark with thousands of twinkling lights. The Legend of the Lion King show, launched in 2004, is a live stage show set in the African Pride Lands where Simba's tale is re-enacted by African villagers representing well loved characters including Simba, Nala, Rafiki and Scar. Seasonal entertainment and festivals take place throughout the year in Disneyland Park, including the popular Halloween and Christmas celebrations.
